 BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT

The main goal of the project was to specify and deploy a control plane, to be integrated with current networking and communication architectures, allowing for:

    - Pervasive, reliable communication environment hiding the heterogeneous infrastructures, supporting the ever changing needs of users and services.

    - Highly dynamic, nested networking environment providing a set of generic value added functions over a wide range of wireless and fixed network technologies.

    - Offer the user an easy to manage, cost efficient, adaptable and permanent connectivity in the best possible manner.

    - Offer service providers a set of interfaces which ease deployment of new services in a co-operative manner between the service provider, network operator and user domain.

The control plane is the Ambient Control Space (ACS), and the cooperation between networks in based on the composition concept.

The role of the group within this project focused on the mobility and multi-access work packages, with special attention being paid to implementation activities; in this sense, we participated in the two demonstrations that the project defended during the technical audits.
