BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT
Contribution to strengthening of the Wireless and Mobile Communications Platform, eMOV, through the integration of agents and the impulse of the technology transference.
Conduct technological research in wireless communications, allowing mobility/pervasiveness of urban services that are currently delivered by third parties. In summary, m:Ciudad proposes a paradigm shift from the Internet model to the Ubiquity model, where contents, information and services are provided through any channel, to any device, in a customized and secure way.
Promotion in the wireless and mobile offer sector of a leap from the “customized integration” to the “product and brand development”, creating in the end an inter-business group capable of approaching, in the future, emblematic European and international R+D projects, specially within the the 7th Framework Programme (FP7).
Approach of a “large-scale” initiative , for knowledge and technology generation which will make it possible the creation of services for the user and her characteristics, in advance of the “State of the Art”, contributing to the eMOV scientific objective for the instantaneous access and interoperability of all kind of services over any type of network.
UC Contribution to the Project
Research on Celular/WSN dual systems, through the specification of PDA-type dual terminals provided of 3G/ZigBee radio interfaces. The specification includes two levels at the radio layer (compatibility and application), in a simplified layer model.
Creation of a gateway between sensor and mobile networks, by means of the study of techniques to adapt the TCP/IP stack to the WSN protocol architectures, as well as the control of multiple wireless interfaces on one only device.
Research on the use of passive sensors and on the sensor self-organization architectures, based on measurement tools and methods which let an operating characterization of passive sensors in order to choose the most suitable ones, to fit with the types of products and applications, they are targeted to.
Identification, discovering and association of heterogeneous devices by means of identification, discovering and authentication techniques.
