BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT
WISQUAS aims at playing a key role in providing the enabling technologies for the future wireless multimedia communications, by conceiving excellent fast physical layers, and appropriate higher layers that can bring the best possible performance out of the physical ones when providing services at minimum power and cost.
The University of Cantabria is focused on the development of cross-layer optimized protocol boosting techniques that enhance the behavior of multimedia communications over wireless channels and on the development of handover mechanisms over non-conventional networks comprising ad-hoc networks and WLANs. Proof-of-concept implementations of the solutions proposed are also developed.
